Resident Participation Terms
These terms supplement the general Terms of Use for physicians in residency or fellowship training who register with or participate through Resident Advisory Network. A separate written engagement agreement or scope controls if it conflicts with these terms.
Effective August 29, 2026
1. Incorporation of general terms
The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy are incorporated into these Resident Participation Terms. You must be at least 18 and currently enrolled in the training program represented in your profile.
2. Accurate profile and verification
You agree to provide accurate identity, contact, specialty, PGY, program, institution, graduation, licensure, and other requested information, and to update material changes. RAN may verify information using institutional email, public or institutional sources, documents, or direct confirmation. Verification is a network workflow step, not an endorsement, credential, employment determination, or guarantee of an opportunity.
3. Voluntary opportunities
Opportunities are optional. You may decline without penalty. Expressing interest does not create a match, contract, or obligation. A connection occurs only after the separate review and connection steps shown in the service. RAN does not guarantee the number, timing, type, compensation, or availability of opportunities.
4. Institutional and professional responsibility
You remain responsible for determining and satisfying all applicable program, GME, employer, institution, conflict-of-interest, outside-activity, moonlighting, work-hour, licensure, visa, contract, and professional requirements. Obtain any required disclosure, permission, or written approval before participating. RAN's questions, classifications, and human review are preliminary workflow triage and are not legal advice or institutional approval.
5. Project scope and compensation
Before accepting work, review the final written scope, deliverables, timing, compensation, payment terms, cancellation terms, confidentiality obligations, and intellectual-property provisions. Compensation must be for defined services and may not depend on referrals, prescriptions, formulary or purchasing decisions, utilization, sales, revenue, or business generated. You are responsible for your own tax obligations unless a controlling agreement or law states otherwise.
6. Independence and no employment promise
Registration or participation does not make you an employee, agent, partner, representative, or joint venturer of RAN or any Company, and does not promise future employment. The precise legal and payment relationship for a compensated engagement, if any, must be stated in the applicable written agreement.
7. Patient care and confidential information
Do not provide patient care through RAN or disclose protected health information, identifiable patient details, screenshots from clinical systems, employer or institutional confidential information, trade secrets, proprietary materials, credentials, or restricted research. Use generalized, non-identifiable professional experience unless a lawful written agreement expressly permits otherwise.
8. Conduct and deliverables
Participate professionally, honestly, and within the agreed scope. Do not misstate expertise, fabricate findings, promote unsafe use, imply institutional endorsement, or allow a Company to direct your clinical, referral, prescribing, formulary, or purchasing decisions. Notify RAN promptly if the scope changes or a conflict, safety concern, or inappropriate request arises.
9. Withdrawal, restriction, and records
You may request account closure or withdraw from a proposed opportunity, subject to obligations already accepted in writing. RAN may pause or end access, an offer, or an engagement for inaccurate information, non-responsiveness, risk, policy concerns, breach, or service needs. RAN may retain records as described in the Privacy Policy.
